Landing pages, one page and one job

Why sending ads or searches to your homepage wastes clicks, and the six parts of a landing page that turns visits into calls and WhatsApp messages.

Fig. 01 — What a landing page has to keep

Someone searches “root canal cost Bengaluru”, clicks your ad and lands on your homepage. It has a slider, a welcome message, eight services and a contact page three clicks away. Plenty of people leave straight away, and you paid for the click anyway.

01 · Why the homepage is the wrong place

A homepage has to serve everyone: new patients, existing ones, job seekers, suppliers. A visitor from an ad or a specific search wants one thing, and they want to see it straight away. Every extra choice on the page is a chance for them to wander off.

02 · The six parts of a page that works

  1. A headline that repeats the promise. If the ad said “Root canal, same-week appointments”, the page says that too, in the first screen.
  2. The answer to the first question. Usually price, or what drives the price. Hiding it doesn’t make people call; it makes them leave.
  3. Proof. Real photos, a short before-and-after, reviews that mention this service, how long you have been doing it.
  4. How it works. Three or four plain steps, so the next part doesn’t feel like a risk.
  5. One clear action, repeated down the page: call, WhatsApp or a short form. Not all three competing equally.
  6. The questions people ask, answered briefly near the bottom.

03 · Speed is part of the page

Most visitors arrive on a phone, often on mobile data. A page that takes five seconds to show anything loses people before they read a word. Keep images small and properly sized, avoid heavy sliders and widgets, and check the page on a real mid-range phone, not only on office Wi-Fi. (Core Web Vitals note)

04 · Make the action easy on a phone

  • A tap-to-call button and a WhatsApp button that opens a pre-filled message.
  • If you use a form, ask for the least you need: name, phone, and one question.
  • Keep the button visible without scrolling back up.

05 · Measure it

Tag every link that points to the page and count calls, WhatsApp taps and form submissions as conversions. Then you can tell which ad, search term or post brought the enquiry, and change the page based on what people actually do. (UTM links note)

A homepage talks to everyone. A landing page talks to the one person who just clicked, repeats what they were promised, and gives them one thing to do.
